Hello everybody
i am a graphic designer & artist , i am using open source programs for about 7 years now . :D
i was using mandriva but i found that tiny core is super fast & stable :)
i want to remaster CorePlus-4.5.2.iso to add the following :
- add 64bit base.
- add nvidia & ati drivers modules ( boot entry to choose to load with ati or nvidia or none ).
- add latest wacom driver (very important)
- ntfs read & write.
- use xfce and remove other desktops.
- add extra fonts.
- add other keyboard languages.
- add some programs like ( inkscape , gimp , etc... )
well that's all , can any body help me with easy steps to follow ?
i want it to be a light and fast edition for artists , hope this work
note: i can't find some programs in the repository like ( blender , sk1 , krita , mypaint ) am i missing something or they doesn't exist ?
Thanks in advance

- add 64bit base.
core64 supplies a 64bit kernel, which allows the use of more than 4gb ram, but does not allow the use of 64bit apps - is this what you're looking for?

Blender has a portable edition on its website

As for Wacom, if this is critical then I'd try to download the driver source code for your device firsrt. because they don't seem to have a great deal of support for linux from their download site, they have for some devices but not all it seems.. :(
Besides Blender which appears to be offline occasionally.. most everything else looks doable.

Try ezremaster.

Yes, none of those have been contributed to the repo yet.

blender - I'll try to have a look at this.
sk1 - the site says: sK1 and UniConvertor 1.x are deprecated and substituted by PrintDesign and UniConvertor 2.0
krita - the is a kde app, I don't use kde
mypaint - I'll try to have a look at this.

i just chanced across this distro yesterday called "open artist" openartisthq.org/
and thought to mention as it may provide some inspiration for the tc remaster

BTW, I'm working on blender, but it's not proving to be easy...

You have to admire anyone attempting to accomplish this task, especially for someone who may never use the app ;)

Blender's a Python monster. Good luck :)
-
..and it's looking like the most recent version requires python-3.2 and you have to go back to 2009 to find a version that will work with python-2.6/2.7...
-
The portable version has built-in python 3, maybe you can do the same with any compiling flags?

I'll leave a portable version of blender to somebody else.
In the meantime a mypaint extension has been uploaded to the repo.
