which instant messengers, chat clients and video telephony applications you use in tinycore?
in the voting list represented all communication applications that are available in tinycore repo
can select no more than 5 of them because unlikely someone uses so many simultaneously
in your opinion which internet communicating applications lacks in the tinycore repository?
possible you use other applications that are more powerfull and more lightweight than listed?
thank you for your replies and suggestions
-
bitlbee, irssi
-
Do I have to guess the result or enter which one I'm using?
-
in the poll i have listed apps that found in the tinycore repo
if you use any of them then you can vote
p.s.
skype i slightly hastened to add to poll
but newly i submitted extension getskype.tcz
-
bitlbee, irssi
accidentally i miss irssi when looking in the repo
has added to the poll
-
hiro,
do you have a functioning copy of bitlbee on tinycore?
if you do, would you mind submitting it to the repo?
thank you.

If I need to quickly irc, I just use Opera, because I have it open anyway.
-
would never have guessed to include opera irc to the poll :)
has added to the poll

IMHO, once you add linphone as a choice, pjsua should be there as well, as in comparison latter has a lighter footprint and is much more versatile when it comes to CLI usage.
What I am not sure about is your subject, is it mandatory for phone apps to include a video function or vice versa?
-
I only connect to bitlbee which is running on some debian.

dear tinypoodle
you are absolutely right this is my omission
i missed pjsua when looking in the repo
pjsua has added to poll
thank you

i mean any applications for people communication
which is lightweight and powerful at the same time
which is already used in tinycore or could be done
of course the video is optional for this purposes
but how can be vice versa i have not seen :)
-
Hi AbNoRMiS
of course the video is optional for this purposes
but how can be vice versa i have not seen
People who are signing don't necessarily require audio.
It's also not uncommon for security feeds to be video only.

Not informed about current version, but many versions of amsn have provided decent video communication without a VoIP feature.
BTW, current beta version of pjsua seems to feature video, while the extension in repo does not.
-
dear Rich
i not sure that correctly understood latest
but if correctly then i would like to notice
that i think that video does not yet give guarantee
that communication channel can not be hacked
by third-party side

Hi AbNoRMiS
All I did was point out two situations where one might transmit video but not audio.
-
Am note sure where to vote... but really I just pick up the phone :p

microsoft as always used its own protocol
i did understood all vice versa :D
"i have not seen the video apps
without communication features
which would have been a phone"

if use it as a means deaf and dumb communication then it have sense :)
