Title: [solved] Extension for non-Latin scripts?

Hi

I have been trying to load a Unicode text containing symbols and non-Latin characters. I used the text editor Bluefish. Instead of the proper characters I get boxes containing small numbers. I also installed Bluefish-locale, but there is no difference.
The strange thing is that the same text, loaded in Bluefish under Windows, is correctly displayed. And it uses the same font, so it is not a font problem.

I am guessing that for the proper rendering of non-Latin scripts, some other extension has to be installed, but which?

Can anyone suggest a solution?

By default TC's language is C, English adn non unicode. Did you change TC's locale to one you are intended to use? If not, application's locale will not work. Also you may need additional fonts installed depending on your language.

I did't. How do I do that?

It is not a font problem, because the text is correctly displayed using the same font, under Windows.

Sorry, do not understand. Do you mean Microsoft Windows?

Even in Windows, it may show you using the font "Verdana", when in reality it uses another font for those glyphs where Verdana does not have support. Just an example.

Solved. But I am not sure what exactly I did to fix it.
Anyway, I went to AppBrowser, and made a search by tag, using the keyword unicode. I then installed a whole bunch of extensions for unicode.
It now works ok, so I dont care which of the extensions did the trick.
