in both installation packs 'README.bindist' in
dosemu-freedos-1.0-bin.tgz
dosemu-1.4.0-bin.tgz
you can read
can be used and installed without root permissions
even in root you can not execute dosemu correctly
so after compilation 'linux-3.0.3-patched.tar.xz'
with CONFIG_BINFMT_MISC=y
in .config copy from config-3.0.3-tinycore
under root is ok
under tc user dosemu error
-------------
LOWRAM mmap: Invalid argument
Segmentation fault
-------------
why is that so
-
I assume dosemu is buggy, and has not been updated for current kernels. The last release seems 2007.
-
yes it is possible do you know some small replacement
-
I've used dosbox before. But if you need a small dos, why not dos itself? freedos?

yes in UBCD is almost everything
but sometimes while compiling kernel or ... do not want to reboot
so want to run small DOS app like 60KB *.exe *.com
for example install partition manager to USB
you say dosbox 4MB will first try bochs-2.3.7-i486.tcz 1.2MB
