Hi,
I configured Tinycore to run as gateway (dhcp, iptables) (on virtualbox), and it runs with minimum of 32 MB ram.
Is it possible to reconfigure it in a way to use much more less ram? and can I remove any "not required for such task" files to reduce the virtual HDD size?

It's by design. If you need lower RAM you should try an other OS and build your own Kernel (with localmodconfig)

Thanks Hiro, any suggestions of such OS (apart from Openwrt which is too complicated compared to my poor Linux knowledge)?

Nope. I agree Openwrt being the obvious choice though. Haven't used it yet.

Is x86 version available? Originally it is for ARM and I havn't seen ports to other architectures.

According to their website there's a x86 port.

By the way: TOR itself will be your biggest RAM problem.
