Title: Opera 11 Install
Post by: HWP1 on January 21, 2012, 10:05:06 AM
Very new user here.  I've loaded Core Plus and it seems to work really well.  However, when I downloaded Opera 11, it fails to load with the following error message:

mount: mounting /dev/loop78 on /tmp/tcloop/opera-11 failed: invalid argument

Any ideas?

Thanks.

That sometimes happens when the download is corrupted.

Maybe you could try marking the opera-11 extension for deletion using apps audit and then using the apps browser to download and load it again.

Oh boy.  I'm now trying to re-download using the apps browser but nothing comes up in the list of applications when I connect to the download site.  I've tried both using wireless and direct connect.  I don't get any error messages just nothing in the list.  I'm able to ping the site from a terminal so I know that the site is alive and I'm on the net.

Never easy is it?

Thanks for the help.

Have you installed to HD or Flash drive yet?
Is AppBrowser downloading to a persistent tce directory?
If not, you may be downloading to RAM and have no RAM available.

I'm now able to see the list of applications in the app browser; however, downloads of Opera-11 fail with an MD5SUM error in both wireless and direct connected modes.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

It checks out ok on the server, so something in your connection is likely.

I've tried several times throughout the day downloading both opera and firefox using both wireless and directly wired.  Every time the downloads fail with an MD5SUM error.

Help?  Suggestions?

BTW, some of the dependencies do download correctly when I use apps audit to verify the check sums, so my connection must be good some of the time?  Makes no sense.

Thanks.
