Title: Strange message just before tinycore desktop
Post by: remus on January 20, 2012, 06:59:58 AM
HI all,

Heres an odd message I see just before my tinycore desktop loads up.

Code: [Select]
ls: cannot access /mnt/sda1/tce/ondemand/*: No such file or directory
My /mnt/sda1/tce/ondemand/ dir is empty.
And I can't see anything in /opt/.filetool.lst or /opt/bootlocal.sh that might be accessing that folder

Any idea what might be causing the msg ?

PS as far as I can tell its not causing any problems.

Hi remus
Check if there is an empty file called  /mnt/sda1/tce/ondemand.lst
If there is, try deleting it and see if the message goes away.

That should be onboot.lst.

Hi remus
Forget everything I just said.

@gerald_clark: I thought I remembered seeing that file on one of my machines, looks like I was
                        mistaken.

I have a file /mnt/sda1/tce/onboot.lst
And it contains
Code: [Select]
openssh.tcz
nano.tcz
samba3.tcz
shadow-utils.tcz
screen.tcz
mkisofs-tools.tcz
appbrowser-cli.tcz
boost-dev.tcz
compiletc.tcz
coreutils.tcz
dosfstools.tcz
ezremaster-legacy.tcz
make.tcz
submitqc4.tcz
wget.tcz
clamav.tcz
Which is the contents of my onboot applications.

I just thought of something that might be relevant.
I was using tinycore 4.1 and started using 3.8.4 because of a problem with samba http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,12345.msg66536.html#msg66536 (http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,12345.msg66536.html#msg66536)

So your saying that I should delete this /mnt/sda1/tce/onboot.lst ?

Hi remus
NO, don't delete that, otherwise your extensions won't load when your computer starts up.

If there are no extensions in optional, there should be no entries in onboot.lst.
