Hi All,
In the line of further increased modularity initial kernel modules could be put in a separate file (merged to the rest of the filesystem in ram at boot time by boot loader) providing easier kernel+modules update/upgrade/initial-module-list-change.
[I use it that way. It works, but I actually need to delete the original kernel modules from the initial ram file manually on kernel update/upgrade.]
How does it sound?

Not all bootloaders can read multiple initrd files.
