Title: mplayer-svn-gtk2 perhaps needs updating?

When opening an mp4 video with mplayer-svn-gtk2 I receive the "brainfart cropping not supported etc etc...." Error.   AFAIK this maybe the result of an old ffmpeg version, which apparently may have been fixed in a recent ffmpeg-svn build..?

Mpayer-nodeps does not have this error

Gtk2 has been deprecated in mplayer, so there can be no updating of it, we just have to accept it for what it is, or retire it if it becomes incompatible with the current repo.
