Title: Control desktop monitor brightness in TC
Post by: Triophile on December 06, 2011, 06:25:57 PM
Hi guys.

Had a poke around the forums, and not really getting anywhere with this, as most of what's there appears to be aimed at laptops.

The OSD of my monitor has failed, so I can't control any of its parameters that way. The rest of the monitor works fine.

Is there an extension I can use to control screen brightness? I searched AppBrowser with the term brightness, and got no answers.

Cheers, Jon.

I think depends of hardware and package installed, in my asus with xorg the brightness work natively

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'll try xbacklight tomorrow. I'm only running Xvesa. Hopefully that won't be a problem...

Cheers, Jon.

It might need Xorg, yes.

Hi Triophile
Though not optimum, if xbacklight does not work, try xgamma:
Code: [Select]
xgamma -gamma 1.1Valid values for gamma are 0.1 to 10
