My first post. I have old laptop and i tried DSL, puppy Linux and other in past but didn't quite do. I found yesterday about Tiny Core. It looks i will be using my old laptop after all. :)
I manage to run TC from Live CD and:
-enable networking
-i understand what it is and what it does and i like it
But after successfully working with it from Live CD i decided it's time to install it on HDD. But now i have a problem with grub. I followed this tutorial exactly as it is more then 3 times:
http://www.tinycorelinux.com/install.html
But after reboot when grub starts it doesn't load TC. It stays in the "console" of the grub. (no errors)
Instruction should mention we have to install grub first to use to:
cp -p /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/* /mnt/hda1/boot/grub/
That took me half our to figure out.
So my question is what should i do differently of what install instruction says so my TC boots?
Thanks for answers.

OK i found out what i was doing wrong! menu.lst was in the wrong place. And in tutorial instedad of this (in step 6):
vi /mnt/hda1/boot/grub/menu.lst
I did it like this:
vi /mnt/hda1/boot/menu.lst
Foolish mistake by me. And i did it many times! ???
So great work. And maybee if u feel it is necessary to say in install tutorial and add a line that says grub must be installed so we can copy files in step 6.
cp -p /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/* /mnt/hda1/boot/grub/

It assumes that the previous steps have been done (ie, that step 1 was completed before step 6).

To be honest now i see it is mentioned in the title and the last sentence in step one.
But i went trough tutorial many times and i don't know how but probably i just assumed step one is for cfdisk only.
So yes everything is there i agree. Now when everything is working i ask myself how is it possible to go through tutorial so many times and do it wrong way so many times. Go figure. :-\
So this post is solved and everything is working like it should.

Hmm, hats, it's true that if one glosses fast over and only looks at the pics, grub is kinda lost there. Could you add a pic about selecting grub? Should make the tutorial more clear for newbies.
