I have jsut installed tinycore from a cd, I am trying via tinycore to repair my ubuntu install that has kernel pannicked because of cd read errors i believe.
For the moment I added firefox, the icon shows up but it does not open up when I click on it. What am I doing wrong??
Also can I install tinycore to a harddrive? the docs seem to point towards multicore which won't boot on my waning cd drive.

CD read fails should not cause a kernel panic.
I would try memtest86 first.
Then I would replace the power supply.

I just did a "base norestore" boot and firefox.tcz loads and runs ok here.

You may have only the tcz file but not the tcz.dep file. The some libs are missing, and firefox won't start. You won't see an error either, you click the button, and nothing seems to happen.
