Trying to use JWM-snapshot on TC4. I set it up as for TC3 (desktop=jwm bootcode, jwm-snapshot extension loaded onboot), copied over the .xsession & .jwm* files from my TC3 home directory to TC4. None of the customisation seems to work i.e. no trays. All the windows are borderless with no title bar & the menu isn't accessible by clicking the desktop.
Is JWM-snapshot for TC4 configured differently from the version in TC3?

If you start a terminal (via wbar?) and try to start it manually, any messages? Looks like it bailed out or crashed.
-
OK I did try that & hadn't got round to posting the result. It can't find libfontconfig.so.1.0. I guess it needs fontconfig loaded. I'm not at my TC machine at present so I'll need to post back later. when I can confirm this.

I've confirmed jwm-snapshot needs fontconfig.tcz loaded in TC4 to work.
-
Added fontconfig to the dep file.

OK,
Next problem - which I haven't managed to find the solution to, but could it be related to the discussion in http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,11899.0/topicseen.html (http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,11899.0/topicseen.html) ?
Using the same .jwmrc-tray file, I get different behaviour with TC4 over TC3.8.4. The .jwmrc-tray file contains:
<JWM>
<!-- Additional tray attributes: autohide, width, border, layer, layout -->
<Tray x="0" y="0" height="25" border="0" layer="9" autohide="false" >
<Swallow name="watcher" width="0"> watcher </Swallow>
</Tray>
<Tray x="0" y="0" height="25" border="0" layer="11" autohide="true">
<TrayButton label="^">root:1</TrayButton>
<!-- Additional TaskList attribute: maxwidth -->
<TaskList/>
<!-- Additional TrayButton attribute: label -->
<TrayButton label="_">showdesktop</TrayButton>
<TrayButton label="$">exec:aterm</TrayButton>
<!-- Additional Pager attributes; width, height -->
<Pager/>
<!-- Additional Swallow attribute: height -->
<Dock/>
<TrayButton label="X">exec:exittc</TrayButton>
</Tray>
</JWM>
This leaves a narrow line at the top of the screen for a wbar, flit & watcher to live & for the JWM bar to come into when I need it. Under TC3.8.4 when windows are maximised they don't cover this area. Under TC4 they do cover it.
A secondary issue is the system font (e.g. menus) in JWM on TC4 is not as clear.

Hi andrewb
A secondary issue is the system font (e.g. menus) in JWM on TC4 is not as clear.
Not sure, but maybe related to this?

since tc 4.3 i use jwm-snapshot and under tc 4.5.2 it starts as noted above
All the windows are borderless with no title bar & the menu isn't accessible by clicking the desktop.
only after relogin then jwm-snapshot starts to work normally
i can not understand what is wrong
