Title: TC Plus 4.02 Floppy Format & Mount
Post by: lkraemer on November 07, 2011, 04:11:02 PM
I've downloaded Tiny Core Plus (Multicore) version 4.0.2 and I enabled my 3.5" Floppy in Bios as A: (1.44 Meg).

I can mount a freshly formatted (DOS 6.22) Floppy, and Un-Mount it too using the Mount tool on the Desktop.
After I un-mount the Floppy I open a Terminal and Format the floppy with fdformat /dev/fd0 (or /dev/fd0H1440).
It completes the format and VERIFIES the Floppy.  Now, when I click on the Desktop Mount tool to mount
the newly formatted floppy it never mounts.  A reboot of Tiny Core doesn't allow that Floppy to
ever be mounted, but I can insert another Windows or DOS Formatted Floppy and it will mount.

I'd think you could easily duplicate this problem.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Larry

You formatted the floppy, but there is no filesystem to mount.
You need to run mkfs to put a filesystem on the floppy.
