Hello

Plesae can you tell me what Linux command to use to KILL all the processes
in a desktop session?. Thus, just leaving the GUI desktop running and the core
skeleton of Linux. "almost like a reboot"

$ Kill all?


i also want to kill any other sessions of that Instance of that virtual desktop machine. Also Kill all
the extra desktops that may be in the current instance.

Also i want a command to completely clear out RAM and clear out CACHE so that the gui desktop
is fresh and re-energized.....so to speak.

man ps
man kill

You would be easier to <CTRL><ALT><BACKSPACE> followed by startx.

i got some wierd issues with TCL 4.0.1 laptop here now

tcl is simply not running correctly on this laptop....it was working fine yesterday....but the exact
same things don't work right today?

it's weird

TCL reports that my cpu as 496 mhz.....but it is a 1.2 ghz AMD mobile chip....is that normal?

i tried the laptop with Puppy Linux and there are no problems at all...everything reports back correct and it web surfs and stuff...correctly..

i have been messing with tcl 4.0.1 with the "ezremaster icon" and perhaps stuff has been
written to the CD that should not have been....(the whole remaster process did NOT work right
as it failed at the end when building the iSO)

TCL seems to boot fine....but it does not run fine....like i say....it was fine yesterday....so it's something that i have done here

i will re-burn TCL 4.0.1 again.....and start over.....

Yes, the cpu scaling is intentional, saves power.

hmmm....ok then

well the same laptop and tcl 4.0.1 "was" working fine........but then wasn't working properly after
i did some tinkering with "ezremaster" icon.

hmmm....

clearly it must have been something to do with my tinkering. Tcl also
seems to behave different if it's installed to USB and booted from there
.....as opposed to being booting direct from CD. In both cases the laptop
is missing a hard drive and the swap drive is on the same USB pen.
