Title: tce-load -i xxxx (install of a downloaded extension): grafic button anywhere ?
Post by: floppy on October 09, 2011, 09:17:51 AM
hello,
I am using "tce-load -i xxxx" for installing xxxx apps which are already downloaded (only in the current session).
If there a button in the apps-audit (or elsewhere) to do it?
Writing in a terminal is ok.. but could be saved?
When I choose the "ONdemand" button in appsaudit, the app is back again in the next session: this is not necessary everytime.

In appbrowser, if you click the "Local" button it will bring up a list of extensions that are present in your tce/optional directory.  Select the one you want and click the "OK" button.

Ondemand is used for such very purpose. Ondemand only makes a menu and icon if supplied by extension for easy on demand loading. Ondemand items are not loaded until you select them from the ondemand menu or wbar icon (if any). No need to be going to shell  and using tce-load -i xxxx

If you want your system to boot fast and still have easy access to your apps use ondemand.
