hello,
Firefox 6.0.2 was on my PC...
By clicking on Firefox "OnDemand" (Conky is on the screen), something happens with the "tce-load", then "loop", then "firefox-bin" processes.
The TinyCoreSystem Stats, page file systems, indicate a /dev/loop34 16.9M 100% /tmp/tcloop/firefox. When I click on the wbar firefox logo, nothing start. tce is on hda2. mc bzImage + MCfile are on hda1.
On the same PC, on another HDD (hdd), I have another test version of MC3.8.4 on hdd1 (for testing new applications, making new setups, like alsa on boot..before I overtake the setups on my "active and productive MC with xorg", common home hdd3 with the problem HDD above, tce on hdd2): in this case firefox is running (version in the TCE directory is 15.07.2011 = 5.0.1).
Is the newest version of Firefox buggy?
I copied back the older Firefox on my computer into the active system.
.. and it works again.

It would be useful to post command-line output from trying to start firefox (6.0.2).

Hi floppy
Try maybe firefox ?
If that gives you File not found, try usr/local/firefox-official/firefox

libxcb.tcz was missing from the dep file. Corrected.

the issue is back: I updated my pc (by error?) with the latest firefox and it dont start with mc4.0.2 and xorg7.4 on my box (firefox is ondemand; by clicking on the firefox icone, the firefox name jump into the application menue, but clicking on firefox in this application menue dont make it starting). So, where can I find an older firefox in this forum? (and will try later a start with usr/local/firefox-official/firefox and post if Isee any error).

Try starting it in an xterm and see what error you get.
-
in a terminal, I tried different things. here it is
> ls /usr/local/firefox-official/firefox
/usr/local/firefox-official/firefox
> usr/local/firefox-official/firefox
sh: usr/local/firefox-official/firefox: not found
> /usr/local/firefox-official/firefox
Illegal instruction
> firefox (in prompt of /home/tc/)
Illegal instruction

Sounds like you have a 586 class processor and Firefox requires pentium.

I have an AMD K6-III; firefox runs before the latest update (I need it only for internet banking). So, where can I find an older version?

We only keep one version of the official Firefox, but there are many versions of the unofficial codenamed builds (minefield, shiretoko etc).

Thanks, I moved to minefield6. Everything fine now.
