It starts and runs fine for me here on TC 3.8,  both my usual install as well as with booting "base norestore".

With base norestore it's OK. But in my development environment (nothing special, just the usual basic compiler tools fresh from the repository) get this error:

is perl_gettext.tcz loaded?

No it is not loaded as many other extensions which is strange. I installed it with App Browser and there were no any error message, just the usual confirmation message at the end.

Hi bmarkus
A couple of days ago after installing some extensions and rebooting I found some things
(Geany,Wireshark,...) where no longer loading. No error messages either. I started AppsAudit and
had it  Display All with Missing Dependencies. It seems that  shared-mime-info.tcz  had disappeared.
Re-installing brought everything back to normal. TC3.4

Well, TC 3.4 is a bit ancient :) Will take some investigation when get time. Thanks for the comment!
