No.....runs out of the box. (I have gtk2 installed on my system, etc, installed on my system).

Only if you have all the right codecs, which might require downloading realplayer and copying into mplayer (at least to play newer releases)..

What did you do to install it? I get this error:
tc@box:~/real$ /opt/real/RealPlayer/realplay
** (process:9982): WARNING **: Unsupported locale C! Please use a locale with .UTF-8 suffix! For example: export LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8
** (realplay.bin:9982): WARNING **: HXPlayer: Error 0x80004005: "A general error has occurred."
** (realplay.bin:9982): WARNING **: Could not create helix engine. Make sure your helix libs are installed at: HELIX_LIBS=/opt/real/RealPlayer
I installed advcomp and bash (to be able to run the installation program) and Firefox (to be able to download RealPlayerGOLD11.bin), otherwise it is a basic TC 1.3.
I have not found any TC extension that contains any locale data that help me.

OK, turns out the locale problem wasn't the real problem. I had forgotten to install alsa (and wget for for the speed test) and to run alsaconf.
I now have sound, but no video (at least not from the NASA feed; haven't had time to test more yet)

The "export LANGUAGE" error can be ignored. It's a static build, so I just run "realplay" from it's own folder. I have expat, gtk2, Xlibs, etc. installed.
