sometimes i like to try programs that i don't know yet, just to be curious.
but i don't want to spoil my clean and verified tce/optional-dir with packages,
that i don't need and don't want to have.
a great thing would be the option to install a package with all it's dependecies just to ram,
without saving to tce.
in the moment i have to clean my tce-repository, after trying some stuff...
for little programs it's no problem at all, but if i try a whole desktop like enlightment or xfce, the fun is gone.
perhaps there is a chance to download packages to /tmp and i can decide afterwards,
whether i want to copy them to my tce/optional-dir for keeping the tested packages...
i hope you see these advantages, that the config stays lean and clean,
but we keep flexible to try other packages perhaps just once.

You should be using AppsAudit or even tce-audit to cleanly remove any apps with their dependencies.

you are right, i didn't consider that the packages are not just "deinstalled",
they are removed and deleted from tce, too.
but nevertheless, what's about a "real" live-modus based on my backuped config, onboot, ondemand and so on,
and new packages don't need or waste space...
(i squeeze a really multifunctional flavour-mix on a 1gb-stick and there are only 32mb space left).
sometimes i want to load more than the freespace and there is no way...
perhaps it's sometimes worth to consider...
thank you for your time, advice and help.

It is unusual to hove more RAM to waste than disk.

you can change the directory written in the file /opt/.tce_dir to /tmp/tce
