Title: german kmaps annoyingly faulty
Post by: badusername on July 15, 2011, 06:48:53 PM
Hello,

first of all don't know which german kmap to choose.
the "normal" one de.kmap offers just quertz layout without umlauts, according keys just empty.

the other ones give those characters depending where I enter only in capital case. the same problem exists with "at" and the sharp s, the euro und cent sign. so why???

i have no problem with the german-kmap except of the euro-sign
now i'm typing: "ä ö ü ß", but the euro-sign is something like "¤" ...

it's different in the terminal, f.e. the bash:
"ß" doesn't work, i get "ss" instead of "ß"
and "ä ö ü" are shown as "? ? ?".

perhaps you see here something to improve, but for me everything is working...
although i use tinycore 1-3 hours a day on different occasions.

try to use qwertz/de-latin1, öäüß are working without any problem in VT and Xvesa. german localization has also been discussed here
