Title: wxcam: error @capturing video screen within skype (Xorg7.4)

hello there,
I am still trying to use skype.. (since 2..3 month time).
I cannot send my picture by capturing a part of the screen (wxcam running) because it abort with "segmentation fault".
I can receive the video of another skype user with Xorg7.4 and reducing the wxcam cpu activity (nice -n 5 wxcam &) .
I tried xvesa with higher definition (800x600x24) but I could not see the counter video. Xorg seems to be the more adapted system for my old pc.
The new idea would be to reduce more the wxcam precision (format of the video?) or activity (with skype and wxcam runs the CPU continuously with 100%).
Has somebody any Idea how to make few progress? (receiving the video via skype is not sooo bad.. but sending it would be very good).

Did you use the static or dynamic version of skype? Maybe the static version would work better?

Thanks for the suggestion.
I tested it under Xorg7.4. It starts. But after 10s it stop with "Aborted".
So, I will try now Xvesa and post any progress.

Status:
- skype extension (created/loaded with a script available in this forum): it runs partially = sound ok; I can receive video with xorg7.4. cannot receive video with Xvesa
- skype static (loaded from skype page; and installation with "tar"): "Aborted" after 10s
I am probably at the limit of my PC hardware (see my signature..).

did you try out older versions of skype?

e.g.

thanks. With static-2.1.0.47 (I have alsa), then "Segmentation fault" with Xorg7.4. I will try xvesa.. who knows..
