Squid/DansGuardian
« on: April 05, 2011, 08:36:34 AM »
Hello,

I'm looking to set up a lightweight, linux based, content-filtering proxy server. Although tcl/mcl ticks all the boxes in terms of a perfect os for the hardware, I can't see any extensions that I could use for a filtering proxy.

Is anyone working on such an extension? If not can I please request a squid/dansguardian extension? I'd do it myself but have no experience with tcl/mcl as yet.

I'll look at producing some dead simple extensions for learning purposes but i'd imagine it will be quite some time before I can tackle something like squid or dansguardian.

Thanks,
Ben

Further to this, just found out that DansGuardian works with polipo so won't need a squid extension. DansGuardian extension would still be really handy though :)

Thanks,
Ben

I have built Dansguardian, and will see if I can hone it into an extension in the near future to at least work with polipo, as I don't have the time resources right now to invest in making/testing/maintaining a squid package.

Dansguardian how to is here, but using tinyproxy.tcz  instead, and the needed extensions are in the repo:
