ImageMagick.tcz with microcore
« on: March 12, 2011, 02:58:50 PM »
After installing ImageMagick.tcz a call of "convert" leads to a "error while loading shared libraries: libjpeg.so.62...".

I read this but it was not helpful. If I understand right then installing links.tcz + links-cli.tcz should solve the problem for links. For me it did not with microcore, I still get a resolved dependeny to libjpeg... when I called links.

You understand wrong; any app depending on graphics stuff which has been stripped from tinycore would not work with microcore unless you would add whatever is required separately. You might be better off replaceing microcore.gz with tinycore.gz.

Also, as stated in the links-cli.tcz info file, you must use the command "links-cli" to launch the cli version of links.  It is named that to allow having both links extensions installed without file conflict.

That is what I did to solve the problem :) and start now with the boot option "text".

However, it seems not reasonable to me that ImageMagick.tcz does not install libjpeg, too (if missing). But maybe my understanding of microcore = tinycore - GUI is not correct.

Thanks a lot for your answers

libjpeg.so.62 is supplied via Xlibs.tcz which tinycore includes and is optional with microcore.
If you wish to use microcore then add Xlibs.tcz.

It is not ImageMagick issue but the environment you are running it and for sure there are many other applications work fine on TC but not MC. Add missing libs to MC but not to applications running correctly on TC.
