Mumble and/or Murmur
« on: March 11, 2011, 05:00:26 PM »
http://mumble.sourceforge.net/BuildingLinux

For a very lightweight VOIP gaming server - free - and a good replacement for TeamSpeak and Ventrilo.  I personally would use it in a VBox VM for my WoW guild.

uses : build-essential qt4-dev-tools libqt4-dev libspeex1 libspeex-dev libboost-dev libasound2-dev libssl-dev g++ libspeechd-dev libzeroc-ice-dev ice-slice libpulse-dev slice2cpp libcap-dev libspeexdsp-dev libprotobuf-dev protobuf-compiler libogg-dev libavahi-compat-libdnssd-dev libsndfile1-dev libg15daemon-client-dev libxi-de

I may have a look at this if I get some time in the next couple of days, as I would like to have mumble/murmur in TC.  If someone else is interested in building in the mean time, please do.

After installing Perl5, CPAN, CGI, and the compiletc extensions, I was able to get it to work.  Would be nice to have it as downloadable extension, but I'm pleased with the results.

IIRC most of those are optional (avahi g15 zeroc speechd etc).
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
