Today I adopted this new solution, I think it's really convenient, I have the sd hidden in the shell of the laptop, plus I can set mechanical write-protection, and for me it's very confortable :)

So true. I don't have a hdd in this laptop. Sd cards are cooler than usb flash drives :)
Does your pc boot from sd?

one thing that I felt long ago and did not work was to use a sd in a usb adapter.
It seems that the adapters do a little confusion in the names of the partitions.

I have a micro-SDHC card that I use in a very tiny USB adapter and it boots reliably.

Kmart doesn't show them on their web site, but Sears does

Hi:
If you would like to work with SD and TC I recommend a gadget from China which allows you
to hook an SD card to an IDE0-  or to a SATA port. Here you can boot from a SD.

Thanks, only sd work in my pc, but I haven't tried the solution of lee, what was troubling me was an adaptation of this type:
