problem running wine

I'm trying to run an application using wine (actually, just the installer for the app itself); it runs OK for the first little bit, then crashes with the following output:

err:wgl:opengl_error No OpenGL support compiled in.
I have installed both "wine" and "wine-gl", but I'm assuming I need some other packages as well. Searching for "opengl" gives a number of different packages, but nothing that stands out to me as being "the one to install".

Any ideas what I can install to fix this?

You should only install one or the other. Now it's likely the first is loaded, and the second won't overwrite, so you ran the non-gl version.

Removing "wine" but leaving "wine-gl" did the trick... thanks!

I'm having trouble with wine too. I'm running the bloated version - wine-gl - because it has the alsa driver and I'm not using oss.

The problem I have is in running spotify. After a successful install I run the program for the first time and get a dialog box: "...program has encountered a serious problem..." and it crashes. Then I run it a second time and a prompt box asks if I want to dump a crash report, I cancel this, and it runs fine. Does this every time.

I recall somewhere that tweaking the autologin in the config settings might sort it but not sure....

I guess it's safe to assume that not many run spotify on tc.

Seems to be tc-specific.
