creating /usr/lib/AntiVir ... failed
1) installing command line scanner
copying bin/antivir to /usr/lib/AntiVir/ ... failed
This system is probably not supported by Avira AntiVir Workstation (UNIX).
root@box:/home/tc/antivir-workstation-pers-2.1.12-19#
i have also ran the command:
mkdir /usr/lib/Anti
here is more relevant info after this command is ran:
creating /usr/lib/AntiVir ... already exists

is there any chance of getting this to work on tinycore?
Frank:
You were able to manually create the /usr/lib/AntiVir directory, so this does not look like a permission problem.
A "shot in the dark:" I could imagine that Avira's installation script expects the GNU tools to be installed, and that it uses command line parameters for "mkdir," "cp," "install," and "mv" that are unknown to the busybox tools. Do you have the GNU tools (coreutils, and perhaps also util-linux) installed?
ejames82:
Hello Frank,
"Avira's installation script expects the GNU tools to be installed
Do you have the GNU tools (coreutils, and perhaps also util-linux) installed?"
I didn't know about such tools, so the answer is no. great suggestion.
I will look through the appbrowser and see what is offered.
thanks for the reply.
ejames82:
i installed gnome-utils.tcz
it was the only extension that i could find that i thought met the criteria.
i'll see how it works, perhaps i need to reboot as well.
ejames82:
copying bin/antivir to /usr/lib/AntiVir/ ... failed
looks like it's not going to work.
thanks for the suggestion Frank.
