Problem with blueman?
« on: March 10, 2011, 04:31:23 PM »
I am trying to connect with my phone, but get this error msg when loading and running blueman-2.7 - something about dbus child spawn, unknown error code 1, and that I would not be able to connect to services. (Please excuse, I am do this from memory, can't reboot to check again for a while).

I checked running services and dbus is up, tftpd wasn't so I started it, but no luck.

Any ideas?

I also get this when trying to send a file:
Code: [Select]
Method "CreateBluetoothSession" with signature "vvs" on interface "org.openobex.Manager" doesn't exist

I no longer have a phone that I can connect to test things out, but did you try creating a file as follows:
Code: [Select]
$ cat ~/.X.d/dbus
dbus-launch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session

..starting dbus and then starting x?

dbus was running, started earlier by something else (dunno what). When I check services, bluez, fuse and dbus are all up and running. I did what you suggested but that made no difference when I rebooted and tried again.

The error window I got has something to do with the bluetooth network - ftp is failed to get started. I copied the error window message but lost it when the dialog self-closed.
