download with 56k modem
« on: February 11, 2011, 05:49:43 PM »
Just setup a computer with 3.4.1 and a 56k external modem.
Thanks to earlier help everything works fine.
Question: How to download from repository.
(I think appbrowser is setup for eth0).
Thanks.

For installing applications, the appbrowser should just work.

You may find that the server is busy.

You could try another mirror.
Many people see what is. Some people see what can be, and make a difference.

appbrowser doesn't mind about what network device you're using. It follows the routing rules just like any other application with network access.
Try the 'route' command, it will show you the probably automatically configured path including the network interface used in that case.

Short: If ping works appbrowser should work (but as guy said, there seem to be ongoing problems on tinycore's side).

Thanks Guy and hiro,
Yes Appbrowser now working for downloads.
May not have waited long enough for the pppconnect to complete its process.
