TC don't load extensions on boot
« on: February 04, 2011, 02:10:06 PM »
I have TinyCore 3.4.1 on a USB Pendrive with GRUB4DOS
TinyCore is in /ISOs/TinyCore and the code on grub4dos is:

Code: [Select]
title TinyCore 3.4.1
kernel /ISOs/TinyCore/bzImage i8042.nopnp=1 waitusb=6 quiet tce=sdb1/ISOs/TinyCore showapps
initrd /ISOs/TinyCore/tinycore.gz

However, with [remaster] (based on TinyCore 2.5) it loads the extensions on boot perfectly. I have [remaster] with this code:

Code: [Select]
title [remaster] 1.2.1 [GOYfilms Edition]
kernel /ISOs/[remaster]-GOYfilms/bzImage i8042.nopnp=1 nomodeset=1 quiet waitusb=2 tce=sdb1/ISOs/[remaster]-GOYfilms showapps kmap=es
initrd /ISOs/[remaster]-GOYfilms/tinycore.gz

What can I do to load automatically the extensions on TC 3.4.1?

Thanks in advance!

See: http://www.tinycorelinux.com/
Section for v.2.8.1

Tiny Core now uses onboot and ondemand to allow greater user control of what gets loaded at boot time. Such control allows for faster boot times.

is there any way to unable this?
I prefer the <2.81 mode...
I mean... how to load automatically all the extensions on a specified directory?

The default when using appbrowser is onboot.
You should not be using 2.x extensions with version 3.x release.

I don't understand...
I try to use 3.x extensions con TinyCore 3.4.1
where I must to put the extensions?
what I must to write in onboot.lst?
Thanks

Hi goyfilms
Open up AppsBrowser, see the dropdown list to the left of the Go button, make sure it's
set to OnBoot. To the right of the TCE: label it should say tce=sdb1/ISOs/TinyCore/optional.
That's all you have to do, AppBrowser will do the rest when it installs your extensions. If
your extensions still don't load try increasing the time on waitusb.
