Idesk requires X windows sstem libraries and headers
« on: January 10, 2011, 02:04:37 PM »
Hi, i was just trying to configure tc to my needs, and so tried to get desktop icons. I googled it, and came upon only 1 thing : idesk. So, I downloaded it, and started with ./configure An error arose :
configure: error: Idesk requires X windows sstem libraries and headers
I do not know what to do, I am guessing that to make tc smaller they removed something, but I don;t know what that is, Can someone help?

You couldn't a priori expect headers to be shipped by default with any binary system.
Such would rather be part of a development environment.

you need the compiletc extension for the base and *-dev for extensions outside the base, for example Xorg-7.5-dev
