Installing and using compiz
« on: December 21, 2010, 11:08:05 PM »
I installed compiz and enabled a few effects like desktop cube and some others, but i
can't seem to get the effects to work. I'm using the latest release 3.4. Any advice would be helpful.

When I type the command compiz --replace I get this error:

   sh: lspci: not found
/usr/local/bin/compiz.real (core) - Fatal: No composite extension

are you using compiz-base or just compiz ? don't forget you need a window decorator such as emerald, metacity etc.

and you may need to enable compositing in xorg conf file, using proprietary drivers automatically enables compositing such as nvidia and ati drivers
