I placed the 20MB of virus database files in the extension so there is not so much pulling from the clamav servers.  This way only an incremental update to the virus definitions will take place with the first run of "freshclam" although the extension is now very large.  But this I think is the right way to go about it.

Onyarian:
I run freshclam with the first version, then move the clamav directory with the 20 Mb virus database to other place of the drive, and finally add to bootlocal.sh:

so every time I boot there is a symlink to the virus database and works OK!
