hi,
the boot option   tinycore kmap=de  has no effect on either of my test engines (DELL, Lenovo, iMac, MacMini).

Changing via ExitToPrompt and entering the command line
... sudo kmap < /usr.../de-latin-nodeadkeys.kmaps
and restoring with  startx   as stated in my recent posting works fine with abiword, gedit, even Aterm, but not with the builtin  Editor.

On Editor I have now qwertz and äöüß but no way to get  at-sign, tilde, square brackets and so on.
My workaround is to have an abiword window open where these signs can easily be written. :-/

The problem arises when I open Firefox, and edit this posting.
No at sign, no brackets, no tilde and so on.
My workaround can be applied here too and so I can copy @{[]}\~ from abiword

I am using Tinycore 3.4.1 and the kmaps.tce from ibiblio.org.

Has anyone else this problem, is there a way to help?

Bootcode:
As mentioned above in this thread, in the faq, in the kmaps info, and the kmaps update announcement, the correct code would be "kmap=qwertz/de".

AltGr:
See the FAQ. Blame Xvesa.
