Fluxbox Keys
« on: October 10, 2010, 03:29:48 PM »
So, I've been attempting to edit /home/tc/.fluxbox/keys, to add a few hotkeys. However, the file is read-only. So, two basic questions:

1)Am I editing the right keys file? (Also, it should be persistent, with the home boot code, but I don't know)
2)Why is it read-only? How can I get around that? (I'm using Beaver text editor, and have tried running it as root)

ls -laR .fluxbox should tell you.

ls -laR .fluxbox should tell you.

That would tell me the permissions, yes. That doesn't answer either of my questions, though.

Why is it (should it be) read-only? If it's supposed to be like that, what am I to do? Is it the keys file I should be editing, with persistence in mind?

keys is a link to the read-only mount of fluxbox.

I have just posted an adjustment to fluxbox.tcz to eliminate any links to the read-only mount.

You can update to get the newest fluxbox.tcz.
You will still have to remove your existing /home/tc/.fluxbox as it will not overwrite any existing home dir .fluxbox/ items.
