/dev/snd/seq not found error

Hello,
I am using tinycore on a different computer (Acer notebook) and I cannot start jack because of this error:
ALSA lib seq_hw.c:457(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: no such file or directory.
I checked out and I have the right extensions loaded for alsa and jack.
lsusb gives: Bus 006 Device 002 ..... EDIROL UA4FX
How to make alsa and jack work in this case?

Did you run alsaconf first?

alsaconf says something like "no pnp, no pci, no isa card found"

yes, this usb-interface works with any distro I have tried.

Perhaps something wrong with your installation?
In any case, as long as alsaconf doesn't recognize your soundcard, you are out of luck.

I'd search web and consult all alsa sources about the specific soundcard.

Of course trying OSS could be an alternative.

maybe
"modprobe snd-usb-audio" is useful;
in fact lsmod does not list this module;
but I tried and I get
"snd-usb-audio not found in modules.dep"

information:
it was a matter of tinycore release.
indeed 2.9 (I think) release recognizes my EDIROL UA-4FX without problems.
so have I to stick with older version?

Good chance that more recent versions of 2.x could work as well then.

no, it is the older version that works, 3.x doesn't.
