Commandline window control
« on: August 26, 2010, 12:35:22 AM »
Has anyone 'tinkered' with wmctrl   commandline windows-manager-controller ?.
I found it via Google at   http://sweb.cz/tripie/utils/wmctrl/
Can this be used with TC ?

I'm converting a few old WinBatch scripts to Linux... and of course, the very first one contains WindowsList, WinRestore, and WinMinimize .   It appears that wmctrl -l is the closest thing to WindowsList, etc, etc.

But before I venture off to fight the windmills, I wanna hear from Don Quixote ! ;)

If you use an EWMH window manager, it should work. The default flwm does not support that spec.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
