lsof

Lsof lists open files on your system, telling which processes are using them.

i use it often in other distros, it's handy for knowing what mp3 or ogg file you're playing also ;) many thanks. oh and regarding xfe (as you were the one that tried compiling it) it's worth trying to compile it twice, even with the fox lib dep.
