gtk2 dependency problem?
« on: May 29, 2010, 11:24:40 PM »
Tried downloading namoroka web browser, getflash10, and epdfview. Although the download appeared to be successful, none of the apps would start either via icon or the app menu. OSS and Opera10 (downloaded afterward) worked OK. Since gtk2 and its dependencies are the common factor it's possible one of them is broken. Didn't go through all the checksums though.

Ok, I will boot "base norestore" and download the said apps and test it out.

Checked in 3.x and all of those mentioned work well.  My hunch is that some of the gtk2 dependencies have not been updated yet the newest gtk2.tcz is being used.

Unless you are talking about menu or icon issues, as they are separate from the app just not working.

Sorry, didn't mention I'm running 2.11. Since Opera10 (with no gtk2 dependency) did work from its icon I thought it might be a gtk2 thing, rather than a menu or icon problem.

Yeah,  it seems to be a menu/icon things.  I will look more into it later today.
