Good Day to All!

I have an Acer Aspire One and would like to have TC/MC with Xorg running on this 'netbook'
Hardware Info:
Model No: ZG5
Product No: AOA110
VGA Bios Version: v0.3305

CPU: Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz
RAM: 1.5Gb
Storage Medium: 8Gb SSD [the extremely slow one]

Problem #1:
There are no problems booting to xvesa via TC 2.11..., however..., when I try to load Xorg and issue startx..., It seem can't go to a desktop :( [even if booted to text mode and manually modprobed drm and i915]

attached is the Xorg.0.log

note: I'm still running TC on USB but this is not a problem right?

curaga:
Try first with xorg.conf.vesa as recommended in the info file; once it works, try changing the driver line to intel.

s3704ssv:
wow!, thanks for the swift reply!

darn blasted!..., I was not able to read the info file  :-[ [My fault :(..., I'm sorry :(]

anyways..., I'll try it and report back for results.

@curaga

I've tried to copy xorg.conf.vesa to xorg.conf..., then issued startx but did'nt work
tried to rename the driver to 'intel' and it works! but with a black background and no icons/bar on the bottom.

Tried also Xorg -configure and issuing the test X -config.... results to a hang.

Maybe I need a little more tweeking!?

I need to have Acceleration and 3D if possible :)

Will the stock xorg.conf.vesa with the replaced 'vesa' to 'intel' be sufficient for 3D and acceleration?

best regards,
dabiano

startx currently needs to happen in your home directory.

Yes, as long as the graphics extension is loaded.

edit: Might need to add the DRI snippet from /etc/X11/README.xorg.conf.
