I am used to lshw - what is equal
« on: May 12, 2010, 07:18:23 PM »
I'm used to debian & ubuntu which I use to troubleshoot W boxes.  lshw command lists hardware in the system and is very handy.  Is there a similar in tinycore?

There is a 'hardinfo.tcz' extension which has been build as a GTK2 application. Please note that in TC 2.11 the mechanism to create a 'wbar' icon is a wee bit "broken". But you can still start it via the menu or from the command line.

Otherwise I believe I had once (just for fun) build 'lshw' without too much trouble. But it appears I did not keep the result (or the build script) around. You might want to try to build it yourself.

Thanks for the answer maro.  I'll try the build and post back, maybe.  dmidecode is available so I may just use it.
