Kmap.tcz doesn't work
« on: May 08, 2010, 10:50:33 AM »
Hi there,

I'm new to tiny core linux but the last couple of months I've been experimenting with a lot of OS's. But now I'm on to a mission to have a fast booting OS to run my webtop. So I stumbled up on tiny core.

As a result of my other adventures I now test every OS I use in Sun VirtualBox. I made a new vm, new hdd and got it running. Since I'm belgian I downloaded kmap, went to terminal and inserted:

Code: [Select]
sudo loadkmap < /usr/share/keymap/be-latin1.kmap
nothing happened.

I did the same using:

Code: [Select]
sudo loadkmap < /usr/share/keymap/azerty.kmap
and again I'm stuck with qwerty..

So here comes my question:
What in earth am I doing wrong?

Are you sure you were in the linux console, instead of an xterm? Menu -> exit to prompt?
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

I do find it strange that "azerty" still gives me qwerty, only the "be-latin1" gives me azerty keylayout
