I posted this on the discussion about Kernel panic.  But I wonder if anyone may be able to help.

Just to say that I have installed Tc 2.10 on an old Pc (it boots from the hard disk using grub).  I get the kernel panic just after the APIC message. However the same Pc boots fine from the Tc 2.10 CD (it also boots fine from the hard disk of a newer laptop I use).  Puppy and a number of other puppy based cds boot fine from the cd, I have just installed TipsyPup onto the same partition (frugal install) and it boots fine.  I would like to know what Tinycore is supposed to do immediately after checking for the APIC, I suspect that the problem has nothing to do with APIC but is related to the next step in the bootup process after that.  I think there must still be a bug in the Tinycore core.
