Wifi-Radar Static ip
« on: April 13, 2010, 03:02:25 AM »
I have a problem with WiFi-Radar 2.0 s05 (standard wifi-radar.tcz)

If i use this version i cannot set a static ip for wlan0
everytime if i connect to my accespoint the tool use udchpc.
if i config wlan0 with ifconfig everthing works fine.

is this a bug of wifi-radar or a mistake of me?

is it possible to create a extension with the new version wifi-radar.2.0-s08 ???

Did you try 'Manual network configuration' in 'Profile Editor'?

..... for sure ....
I set my ip 192.168.0.5
netmask to 255.255.255.0 for example
my gateway and one dns, I think this is enough
I klick the save-button
if I check the settings in "wifi-radar.conf" it is correctly saved (use_dhcp=False)
after that I klick to connect, and now the tool try to get the ip-adress from the Acces-Point again.

i think ist a bug of wifi-radar 2.0.s05, or am I the only one with this problem?

I think its a very buggy version, i tried a lot of other things and often the tools hangs an I have to restart the pc.

Is it possible for someone to create a new wifi-radar.tcz using the newest version "wifi-radar-2.0.s08.tar.bz2"
from the offical website:     http://wifi-radar.berlios.de/pub/

There are many discussions about this issue on the net using different distributions and WICD versions without a solution :(

Try nodhcp boot option. Problem is caused most likely by the running dhcpd daemon.
