Missing icon bar thing.
« on: April 09, 2010, 08:41:36 PM »
After installing TC and rebooting to the installed TC. I noticed that the bar wth the icons on the bottom is missing. How do I get it back?

That bar (i.e. 'wbar') should get started via '~/.xsession'.

Have a look what's missing e.g. by comparing it to '/etc/skel/.xsession'. Or do you use boot code 'noicons'?

I open /etc/skel/.xsession in vi. What should I be looking for?

The wbar should not just disappear.

There would be a logical explanation, but we don't know what you have done. Explain in more detail what you have done.

Have you installed another window manager? Which one?

Do you use persistent home? Do you use backup?

Did you do anything unusual which may have caused this?

If you have modified certain hidden files in /home/tc, this could cause it.

If you have installed another window manager, try removing it, and running from the default window manager. See if it works.

Many people see what is. Some people see what can be, and make a difference.
