persistent home, home in filetool, xfiletool
« on: April 02, 2010, 01:12:41 PM »
In case of persistent home and home present in filetool, during shutdown files/dirs listed in xfiletool (regarding home) should be deleted.
This for nomadism reasons.
Let's "say" I made a mistake putting in xfiletool something I need.
Then I change pc and I use the mydata form the previous pc.
I notice the mistake, but it's too late cause I'm not anymore on the first pc.
Implementing what I propose, when I reboot I don't have in home files listed in xfiletool and I'm more sure that when I change pc everything works.
Hope it's clear.
bye

PS. slitaz 3.0 is out (interesting?)

Re PS:
SliTaz 3.0 interesting and relatively well done, but TinyCore is way ahead after testing.
E.g. SliTaz:
1. It is using HAL.
2. Xorg does not render properly on my laptops - One old T23 and one new XPS 1330. TC renders properly after Xorg install. Xvesa - No go...
3. Appears to use applications slightly behind in versions vs. TCL.

SliTaz boots fast - yes, but what our TCL team discovered in terms of optimal system, SliTaz does not come close...
This is thanks to Bela Markus, Curaga, Jason and many others (pardon me not mentioning all names, whose contribution is equally recognized).
Although I was working with SliTaz long before I discovered TCL, I have to say TCL is the best architected system I know at this point...
If there is a weak point, then it could be easy re-mastering and ready 'flavors' in SliTaz speak...

Most people intentionally exclude things from backup, so backup does not take too long.

You can't design an operating system to know when you made a mistake. If you make a mistake, you correct it.
Many people see what is. Some people see what can be, and make a difference.
