making extensions
« on: March 24, 2010, 06:22:49 AM »
Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to create extensions for tinycore by compiling or preparing them in another linux installation.
Example:
-I have installed tinycore and ubuntu;
-I use tinycore for some particular purposes, with very few extensions;
-usually I use ubuntu to compile programs;
-I want to compile extensions in ubuntu and then easily put them in tinycore.

Is this possibile?
Any documentation about compiling extensions, I wasn't able to find it.
thanks in advance

It is possible, and I used Debian to compile with before there was a compile extension.

But extensions to be submitted need to be compiled on tinycore.  The wiki has instructions on how to make an extension.

Say I am not interested now in submitting extensions but I am working on an application and compiling it in ubuntu: what have I to do to run that application in tinycore? what did you do in debian?
thanks

You would compile the app pretty much the same way in debian as in tc - the wiki has a section on how to do this.
