Tiny Core Extensions > TCE 2.x
wine-gl
hiro:
You could also replace alsa with libasound or something like that...
The Xorg-7.4 dependency creates problems on tc3

any update? wine just released a new version. maybe a good time to take out alsa.

I don't know what you are referring to right now. If you talk about the wine extension in the 2.x repo, I strongly recommend updating to 3.x.
In the 3.x repo there are two wine extensions:
1. wine.tcz (no alsa, minimal)
2. wine-gl.tcz (with alsa support, bloated, deps are libasound and Xorg-7.5)
As far as I can see there are no dep or alsa problems with these. I'm gonna check the 2.x repo.
Any good reason why to take out alsa support completely from wine?
[edit]
I removed alsa.tcz from wine-gl.tcz.dep in 2.x repo and placed libasound.tcz instead, however: Please use tc 3.x and the wine-gl / wine extensions there.

I'll bite. I would like to make a case against alsa.
But I know that some people are forced to convert everything to alsa, so it's a difficult case...
I was lucky in that most of my apps where compiled for OSS when I started using tinycorelinux. This, plus the intuitive extension system made me stay.
The convention here seems to be *either* OSS or alsa.

Hello Jason, I am talking about 3.x repo. and the wine-gl in 3.x repo still requires alsa and bash.
