Is this necessary to run alsa for most machines? I was unaware that it was required.

I use alsa only because I didn't manage to have sound in skype with OSS

hwmon-2.6.29.1-tinycore.tcz is listed in input-2.6.29.1-tinycore.tcz.dep wich is listed in alsa.tcz

I added a routine in the extension audit script to detect missing entries in dep files, and I would advise even the most experienced extension makers to use it.  You will be surprised at the results.
